Nestled in the Governorate of Ad Dakhiliyah, approximately 164 kilometers from the capital city of Muscat, lies the Wilayat of Nizwa\u2014Oman\u2019s historical and intellectual gem. Known as the “Egg of Islam,” this area boasts a rich tapestry of scholarly, juristic, and historical contributions to the Sultanate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nizwa Fort<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Standing tall among Oman\u2019s ancient architectural marvels is the Nizwa Fort. Unique for its colossal circular shape, this fort is an impressive 24 meters in height and 43 meters in outer diameter. Seven wells and multiple openings were strategically placed to protect the fortress and its city from invaders. Inside, different chambers served as prisons, where judgment and execution took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Falaj Daris<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Considered one of Oman’s largest falaj, Falaj Daris plays an indispensable role in irrigating the many farms of Nizwa. Locals have meticulously preserved this falaj for generations, showcasing a commendable commitment to sustainable agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
